At Dentistry of Newburyport, we provide a variety of same day dentistry options for patients living in Newburyport, MA and the 01950 area. Same Day Dentistry Options

We offer a variety of same day dentistry procedures. If you have a sudden toothache or damaged a tooth while playing softball, call us right away so you can receive the treatment you need. We are focused on restorative dentistry that will give you the full use of your tooth as quickly as possible. While some of our same day dentistry procedures involve addressing immediate health concerns, like performing a root canal treatment or periodontics, we can also improve the appearance of your tooth right away. Some of the procedures we use to do so are:

Teeth whitening. This is the fastest way to make a dramatic impact on the appearance of your smile. We can apply whitening solution to your teeth after cleaning them. Your teeth can become eight shades (or more) whiter by using our solution.

Dental bonding. This is the fastest restorative dentistry solution we offer. If you have cracked or chipped a tooth, we can apply a tooth-colored material to the surface of it, shape it in place, and harden it using a dental light. As a result, your tooth will be fully functional and natural-looking by the time you leave our office. This is a non-invasive procedure and ideal for those who are busy or for children. Typically, the bonding material will not last as long as a dental crown, but you will get years of use out of it. We also use bonding in combination with cosmetic contouring to correct misshapen teeth or as part of a full smile makeover.

Dental veneers. Teeth that are severely stained and not responding to teeth whitening can be improved using dental veneers. A veneer is a thin shell placed on the surface of your tooth. Once bonded, it is durable and will allow you to eat all of your favorite foods, making it an ideal restoration when one of your front teeth is chipped. We use dental veneers as restorations and to close gaps in between teeth, change the shape and size of teeth, or to make them appear straighter. The process generally takes two visits, though we can fit you with a temporary set of veneers on the same day you come in.

Dentures and dental implants. If you are missing any of your teeth and live in Newburyport, MA, we encourage you to come in to discuss your options for replacing them. We can fit you with a temporary set of dentures to be worn while you are undergoing a dental procedure to permanently replace your missing teeth. We recommend doing so using dental implants, because this is the only procedure that replaces your missing tooth and root. To start, we will insert a titanium post under your gums and secure it to your jawbone. The metal and bone will fuse together, creating a support structure for the new tooth and stimulation to the jaw bone. Later, a synthetic tooth (dental crown) will be secured to an abutment attached to the metal post. This process takes time, but by providing you with a temporary denture to wear, your smile will look intact while we use surgical dentistry to place the implant.

Dental crowns. If your tooth has been severely cracked, chipped, or a large portion of the enamel has been removed, a dental crown is likely the best solution for restoring it. In this procedure, a cap is placed around the visible areas of your tooth, making it the most protective restoration that we offer. A dental crown is also used as the anchor that holds dental bridges in place when trying to replace teeth in a permanent, yet non-surgical way.

Preventative dental care. As a provider of same day dentistry services, we do more than place dental veneers, dental implants, and dental crowns. We also provide patients with ongoing preventative care that can reduce your risk of developing cavities, infections, or damaging your teeth. We recommend that you schedule a teeth cleaning and dental examination twice per year so we can remove any plaque or tartar that has built up. We can also identify any cavities, remove the decay, and restore your teeth using dental fillings. If we notice any signs of gum disease, we can remove the plaque causing it by performing a gum therapy treatment, such as deep scaling and root planning. In the more advanced stages, we may also need to perform a gum recession treatment and gum grafting

If you would like to learn more about these procedures or the work we do as a TMJ dentist and provider of orthodontics for adults, call (978) 703-0133. In the event of an emergency, we can also assist you with a tooth extraction.
